Headteacher Appraisal

Lisa is experienced in working with Headteachers and Governing Bodies, some of whom use Lisa for regular school improvement work and some who deploy simply for appraisal.

A typical reive/target setting support service comprises:

• HT sends previous targets and supporting evidence to Lisa a fortnight in advance of the meeting.
• Advice on setting objectives taking into account the school data on performance as well as self evaluation.
• Support for governors in evaluating headteacher performance through a meeting (online or face to face) for approximately 2 hours which includes Lisa meeting with the HT, then HT Appraisal Panel and, finally, all of the group together to summarise the outcomes. 
• Ensuring governors and headteachers are aware of their roles in the process. 
• A detailed report, with suggested review outcomes and targets, provided for the Governors' Panel within one school week. 

Although Headteacher Appraisal advice for the Governing Body can be provided with no prior knowledge of the school, the process is often most effective where Lisa has completed improvement partner work with the school.  

Governors may also arrange for additional support for their statutory mid year review of the Headteacher's Appraisal should this be required.
